Power SupplyThis is a component that supplies the power to the PC itself. The power supply converts the AC current to DC current. This obviously means that the power supply is necessary for the PC to actually run. Some power supplies need to be adjusted manually to the required voltage however most power supplies adjust automatically. The power supply will need to be connected to the PC and will be required to be switched on to ensure that it works. The power supply can very easily over heat though so if you feel that the power supply itself is getting to hot then you must ensure that it is kept cool.

FanThe fan is a necessary part of a PC that stops the PC from over heating. The fan cools down the PC when it is close to over heating. Without a the fan in some cases the PC can actually catch on fire. This mainly applies to the processor, graphic cards and RAM as they generate a lot more heat than any other parts of the PC. This means that is crucial that these parts of the PC are kept at a substantial temperature to avoid overheating or instability.
